Material
This material presents a set of materialized abstractions (large, small, green, smooth, rough…) that the child can perceive through their senses (touch, sight, etc.). The child engages in discrimination and comparison work. We help the child organize their perceptions of the outside world by classifying, analyzing, and naming…
The materials for geography, science, botany, music, and the activities in visual arts provide the child with a solid knowledge base and an initial understanding of the world in which they live.
It consists of everyday objects or activities (buttoning/unbuttoning, peeling, pouring water…). These context-free exercises allow them to refine their movements, acquire the dexterity and confidence needed for practical application without the risk of failure. They foster self-confidence and autonomy.
Our school also focuses on teaching language (reading and writing) through games involving sound analysis, sound and sign associations, and sensory materials that aid in refining writing movements. Thus, learning to read happens naturally.
This material has been specially designed to help children experientially understand the concepts of numbers, quantities, and operations to facilitate the transition to abstraction.
